HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT VEIL LENGTH

I personally hate getting pitched with all sorts of industry terms that only the gurus understand. Let’s strip it back and talk candidly about veils, why we love them, and how to select the best veil length for your dress.
OUR STANDARD LENGTHS INCLUDE:
Fingertip (36 inches)
Chapel (85 inches)
Cathedral (110 inches)
Drop veil (137 inches)
Note: these lengths can vary slightly from designer to designer.
FINGERTIP LENGTH VEIL.
Short and sweet, this veil is usually 36 inches/ 92 cms in length. If you’re seeking glam and volume, it’s spot on. It can have a choppy effect or even compete with an open back so we tend to style it with a LWD or suit look for a civil ceremony. It screams elopement! Our fingertip veils are all created with light ivory, English tulle. After slightly hand-gathering the tulle to create volume and depth, we sew it to a gold-plated comb so you can easily secure it in your hair.
CHAPEL LENGTH VEIL
Floor grazing no matter your height, the chapel-length veil is 85 inches/216 cms. It’s practical and perfect for outdoors, especially if you’re concerned about the ‘to-do’ of a longer veil. It has a beautiful elongating effect, creating a column visual. Ultimately, chapel gives you the veil moment without the ‘baggage’. If your gown has a minimal, puddle train, a chapel-length veil should be a sufficient pairing for the two to fall similarly in length.
CATHEDRAL LENGTH VEIL
This 110-inch/ 280-cm style creates the ultimate ‘bride’ moment. It’s our most popular veil length because most wedding gowns have a substantial train and this length veil will match similarly in length. A cathedral-length has a regal presence at the altar and will elevate a simple gown to create a statement look.
DROP VEIL LENGTH
If you’re seeking tradition, a drop veil has a blusher built within its minimalist silhouette. We create ours with a 27-inch blusher and 110-inch train. Unlike the other veils, we do not gather a drop veil. Instead, small cotton loops are discretely added at the 27-inch blusher point so that the veil can be secured in your hair with bobbie pins. It’s the epitome of modern romance, I promise a drop veil will lend elegance to your look and dramatize your imagery in all the right ways.
