WHAT IS A blusher?

GEMMA DROP VEIL

LEARN THE TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BLUSHERS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR WEDDING VEIL

DROP VEIL VS BLUSHER VEIL

Short and sweet: a blusher veil is a veil with a layer of fabric that hangs over the front of your face. It's secured to your hair with a sleek comb that tucks into any hairstyle. Traditionally, your partner will lift the front layer before the kiss.

A drop veil is just as dramatic but with a slightly more refined and simple aura. It’s a single layer of fabric that’s placed over your head, draping in front of your face and down the length of your back. Rather than a standard comb attachment often seen on veils, our drop veil design has little cotton loops that allow you to pin it discretely in place— leaving an elegant finish.

Now that you know the basics of these two styles, we can chat more about what makes them unique and why one may work better for you than the other.

If you’re thinking, “I don't want a veil… but the pictures could be sublime” you might be more of a drop veil girly. For me, this style really “gets the shot.” It’s dramatic yet refined. There’s never too much volume, meaning you get all the fluidity and dimension of a blusher without feeling like it’s overpowering your look.

Drop veils are seamless, meaning no volume— the blusher and train portion of the veil are one seamless layer. (often English tulle but we have other great options available like a chiffon drop veil). Watch + learn more about the difference between a drop veil and our standard silhouette here.

One of our favorite ways to style a drop veil is actually, not as a veil at all, but as a necktie (watch it here). It’s a great way to get multiple uses out of this accessory and can change up your bridal look dramatically. From sleek and refined to vintage and couture in seconds.

Email info@abellie.com if you wish to customize any of our veils to be a drop veil silhouette.

BLUSHER VEIL

A comb attachment can make all the difference. It adds volume to create maximal dimension and statement appeal. If you’re looking for a veil that isn’t just part of your look but a key element, a blusher is an easy piece to achieve this aesthetic. Think regal romance + dramatic demure!

  • our standard blusher can be made any length, though we typically offer them in 27-inch (which can be attached to a fingertip, chapel, or cathedral-length veil).

  • blushers add another layer of fabric to the look— so if you want your veil to be seen every which way, this is the style to go with.
